Tabcorp, a globally recognised brand and a major player in live sports, entertainment, and racing, approached us to enhance their Entertainment & Leisure Brand's Mobile App. Working closely with Tabcorp's UX team, our mission was to elevate the existing app interface, design new features, and prepare for future integration, such as the website. I led the creation of a comprehensive Design System that gave Tabcorp's development team a unified understanding of all UI components. Our shared goal was to make the design and development process more efficient and cost-effective, without compromising on quality.

The Brief
Tabcorp's Mobile App work sat within a broader customer experience strategy, and a proper design system was identified as a key part of delivering on it. Without one in place, UI components, buttons, colours, spacing, were inconsistent across screens, and developers were often rebuilding the same elements from scratch rather than pulling from a shared source. That slowed down both design handoff and development, and made it harder to scale confidently as new features and channels (like the website) came into scope. The team needed governance and structure around their design language, not just a redesign of the app itself.
The Approach
I integrated into Tabcorp's multi-functional team, strengthening their UI design capabilities and turning UX app designs into high-fidelity prototypes. I extended their iconography to improve usability while keeping the brand consistent, and built an enterprise-level Design System to serve as the single source of truth for digital design elements across their ecosystem. This gave the development team a clear, documented methodology to build scalable, sustainable digital channels with speed and quality.
The Outcome
Upon release, the newly designed app was well received, earning a 4.6 rating on both the iOS and Android app stores. The project extended beyond the initial app build to accommodate new channels, with the Design System giving both design and development a shared source of truth, accelerating the process while ensuring consistency across channels with essential functions and components.
