aIQ — Bringing identity to KPMG's internal AI
KPMG built aIQ as a safe, internal space for staff to use AI within their own governed environment, giving people access to multiple AI models without stepping outside KPMG's own walls. It was already live on an existing design system, but it looked and felt generic, more like a template than a platform built for a firm the size of KPMG. Our team was brought in to change that.

As the sole visual designer on the project, working alongside a UX team and creative director, I was tasked with moving aIQ off its inherited design system and developing a new visual identity from the ground up. I created the full visual language, including a custom background system unique to aIQ, and collaborated closely with the UX team on how core features like the AI model picker and task suggestions came together on screen.
What started as a dashboard only scope grew into a mobile app concept, extending the experience to KPMG staff and partners on the move. I designed the full mobile interface, including a swipe up gesture surfacing quick tasks and AI suggested actions, giving people a lightweight way to stay on top of work outside the desktop environment. The project ran over roughly six months.
While this version of aIQ didn't ship as designed, it directly shaped what came next. A simplified light and dark mode version became the foundational base for further development, with this mobile and desktop work informing the direction of a planned v3.
