Rest MOL — Bringing simple to where members manage their super.
Rest, one of Australia's largest super funds, refreshed its visual brand identity in 2024 with a focus on making super feel simple, especially for its younger members. Member Online (MOL), the portal where members log in to manage their super, needed to move onto a brand new platform that matched that refreshed identity while fixing long standing usability issues tied to the outdated legacy system it was replacing.

As visual designer on the project, working within a larger team, I was responsible for applying the newly established Rest brand across the Member Online portal, translating brand guidelines into a functioning design system built for the platform.
Beyond the visual layer, I worked on the flow design connecting each part of the experience. The new platform gave us room to simplify navigation and cut down unnecessary steps in ways the old system couldn't support, so every core flow, from account creation through to investment switching, kept the functionality members relied on while making it easier to move through. Where the previous portal felt dated and difficult to warm to, the goal was a platform members could actually enjoy using, not just tolerate.
One of the most rewarding parts of the project was introducing that fresh design system to a platform that badly needed it. The old Member Online felt old school and uninviting; being able to bring real visual polish to something members interact with regularly made the improvement feel tangible, not just a coat of new paint.
The result is a portal that replaces a legacy system with one built to match Rest's refreshed identity from the ground up, giving members a more consistent, on brand, and genuinely easier experience as they manage their super online.
